About: Bobbi Morey

Bobbi Sinha-Morey is an accomplished poet and nonfiction writer. Her poetry can be seen in a variety of publications, both in print and online. Her credits include The Houston Literary Review, Pirene’s Fountain, Orbis, Gloom Cupboard, Recovering The Self, Touch: The Journal Of Healing, Oak Bend Review, The Poet’s Haven, Poet’s Ink, The Poet’s Pen, The Other Herald, The Aurorean, The Sheltered Poet, Clark Street Review, Sage Trail, The Taylor Trust, The Camel Saloon, Carcinogenic Poetry, Ophelia Street, Milk Sugar, The Bijou Poetry Review, The Golden Lantern, Bellowing Ark, Poet’s Espresso, Falling Star, Quantum Leap, The Shepherd, and West Ward Quarterly, as well as hundreds of others she has gathered over the years. She’s done several books of poetry, both online and in print. She is a member of the Academy of American poets and in 2010 made inclusion in the Marquis’ Who’s Who Of The World. In 2009 her book of poetry, White Tea, was up for the EPIC Award, an award for electronic books of poetry, and her speculative book of poetry, Songs Of A Sorceress, made the final ballot of the Bram Stoker Award in 2006. She won first place in The First Annual Science Fiction/ Fantasy/Horror Poetry, Short Story, First Chapter Contest in 1996 held by the North Texas Professional Writers Association, the 1997 Cedar Bay Press LLC Poet’s Award for Outstanding Achievement, and as Best Poet of 1994 by the Small Press Genre Association. She has earned two Honorable Mentions in Ellen Datlow’s Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror and on two different occasions has been nominated for The Rhysling. At one time she was also a finalist for the Eppie Award. In the past she’s been an archivist, secretary, poetry editor for the magazines Midnight Zoo, Aberrations, and Dark Regions, plus has been editor for The Genre Writer’s News, associate editor for Aberrations, and co-editor for Horror Magazine. She has also been editor of The Selected Poetry Series, a line of poetry books by a number of well-known poets. She has also done a variety of nonfiction which can be seen in magazines such as E-scape, Eternal Twilight Magazine, Fantasy, Folklore and Fairytales, Just Write, SPWAO, Maelstrom, Puck, Gotta Write, Dark Matter, The Reaper, India Currents, Lite Delight, Eagle’s Flight, Matriarch’s Way, Verses, Literary Magazine Review, and others. She also wrote for The Orinda News and has been a poetry columnist for years. In addition, she has steadily been doing reviews for the online magazine The Specusphere. She’s done well over a hundred reviews for them, and like the Energizer Bunny she keeps on going. For three years she also wrote reviews of TV shows for TV Tome before it ended and turned into TV.COM. She did over a hundred reviews for “Seinfeld,” “Frasier,” and “Cheers.” While a student at Wright State University she worked on the student body literary magazine, Nexus. In 1987 she graduated from WSU with honors and a BA in Communications. She worked as a reporter for The Daily Guardian, earned a Professional Writer’s Certificate from the English Department, and was a member of the Spanish Club.
